The new homepage, on the message Jesse wrote from a blank page: the people giving you advice should be paid to give advice. honestadvice.ca now points at it. The old site is gone.
The open book.
Where the money comes from, what we shipped, what we got wrong, and everything we have promised and not yet delivered. If we are going to argue that this industry hides things, this page is the price of saying it.

What we shipped
This site. The first thing we have put in front of anybody in five months of building.
The question sheet. One page, your own numbers, and four questions to take to whoever manages your money. Free, no account, nothing stored.
This page.
What we got wrong
We built nine versions of this site and shipped none of them, because each one restarted the design instead of finishing it.
The link we were calling live sat behind a login wall for two months. Nobody noticed, including us.
Every earlier version of this site had an email box that did not save anything. Anyone who typed their address into one of them was never recorded, and we are sorry. The form on this site writes to a real database, and that was built before anything else this time. Confirmation emails start once our mailbox is set up.
What is not built yet
Everything on this list has been described somewhere as something we will do. None of it exists today.
- The member app, on web and on phones.
- Statement upload, and the human review that goes with it.
- Any way to actually pay us. Subscriptions are not open.
- The explainer library, and the box that answers questions from it.
- The tools: fee breakdowns, holdings breakdowns, and the record that keeps what you found.
- Weekly writing and the monthly note. Neither has started.
One more thing worth stating plainly
Honest Advice is not registered with any securities regulator, and is not seeking registration. That is a deliberate choice, and it defines what this is. We show you what you are paying, what you own, and what risk you carry, using your own numbers. We do not manage money, we do not recommend investments, and we will never tell you what to buy or sell. If you want someone to make those decisions for you, we are not that, and we will say so every time.
